The deficit of the state budget in 2026 is expected to amount to over PLN 271 billion, gross PLN 647.2 billion, expenditure PLN 918 billion. In explanation – the gap is within the statutory and constitutional framework. In practice, like the predecessors of Law and Justice, the government will spend more than PLN 100 billion outside the budget and outside Parliament's control. In 2027, the debt-to-GDP ratio will be over 55%, which is more than allowed by the Public Finance Act, and in 2029 by 59.5%, almost as much as the constitution allows.
