After a strong snowstorm that hit the Tibetan side of Mount Everest on the night of 3 to 4 October, the authorities temporarily closed popular hiking trails, including the base under Everest and the Gama Valley. hard conditions – snow, ice and low visibility – caused hundreds of tourists to be trapped in the mountains.

Emergency services managed to safely evacuate at least 350 people from camps at an altitude of 4,900 metres, bringing them to Qudang. According to Chinese state media, their wellness is good.
