The territory Court in Warsaw has maintained a judgement acquittaling Samuel Pereira against the charge of defamation of Roman Giertych. The process dealt with Article 212 of the Criminal Code. “I am glad that the court has divided my opinion in both the first and second instance,” Pereira says in an interview with Virtualmedia.pl
The court ordered the court to pay the costs. We have asked Roman Giertych for a comment, but he has reported that he is after the votes in the Sejm, does not yet know the decision of the court and has concluded the conversation.
– I am glad that the fact prevailed that the court in the first and second instance divided the evidence presented, which I spoke about," commented Samuel Pereira in a conversation with Virtualmedia.pl.

What was that about? Roman Gierty accused Samuel Pereira of acting under Article 212, par. 2 of the Penal Code (denunciation).
The case was handled with the exception of transparency. In the indictment against the journalist, Roman Gierty demanded that he punish the year of prison and pay PLN 200,000.

The territory Court for Warsaw Śródmieście at the first instance in April 2025 acquitted Pereira from the action which Gierty accused him of. However, the parties were granted an appeal against this judgment.
Let us remind you that Samuel Pereira was the head of the TVP Info website editorial in July 2017, and from January 2016 to June 2017 he was the deputy editor of the editorial press at the tv Information Agency. Before that, he was a writer of "Gazeta Polskiej Everyday".
Since September 2024, Pereira has been working on tv in Poland24. He was liable for publishing news sites and appeared as a commentator on publicist programs.
