On September 27, all of Poland’s eyes will be on Kraków. These are the most crucial elections of 2026, and the race for mayor of this city of 800,000 has been heating up national politics since spring. It’s now clear that there will be a second round. According to first exit polls, Łukasz Gibała received 36.6 percent of the vote. Monika Piątkowska received 24.4 percent. Michał Drewnicki of PiS came in 3rd with 19.6 percent. 7 candidates ran for the office.
