Until late Germany was the most popular country for life, which was chosen by immigrants coming from outside Europe. Now Germany has lost its leadership to France and Spain. It is in these EU countries that the most asylum applications are submitted.
"Herzlich willkommenn" is simply a slogan promoting German migration policy in the days of Angela Merkel's regulation has already gone to annals. The pro-immigrant attitude of Germany has surely contributed to the fact that the centres of large cities in the country of our western neighbours are little and little like Europe. Cities filled with immigrants from the mediate East, Africa and Asia are becoming increasingly hard to live in.
The German migration policy to date is at least partially changing. The media has repeatedly reported that illegal immigrants from outside Europe are being transported from Germany to Poland and thrown to Poland. Are immigrants coming to Germany getting worse and now knowingly choosing another destinations?
According to the latest investigation by the European Union Agency for Asylum, the country of our western neighbours has ceased to be the most popular place in Europe where immigrants from all over the planet have come.
The Berlin paper “Welt am Sonntag” states, citing the investigation of the said Agency, that Germany is no longer a leader in terms of asylum applications received.
At the top of this statistic is now France, where 40 871 asylum applications were submitted in the first 4th of 2025. Immigrants seeking the right to reside in this country are most frequently from Venezuela, Afghanistan or Syria. Just behind France, Spain appeared on the podium, where 39,318 asylum applications were submitted during a akin period.
Germany ranked 3rd with 37,387 asylum applications submitted by immigrants in the first 4th of 2025.
In addition to immigrants from Venezuela, Afghanistan or Syria, people from Ukraine, China, India, as well as Colombia and Turkey are most frequently trying to enter Europe.
