German tanks for Italy?

Italy's Ground Forces are presently moving a programme to upgrade Ariete C1 tanks to C2 standard. However, it seems that this vehicle, even after modernization, is not considered adequate and it is being considered to acquisition another structure, as a bridging solution until the fresh generation tank is deployed into service.
