German aviation will defend Slovakia's airspace

Since Saturday, Germany, along with the Czech Republic, Poland and Hungary, have been guarding Slovak airspace. Until December 22, Germany will be conducting patrol flights and 2 Eurofighter fighter jets are to be on permanent standby. German support is expected to compensate for the withdrawal of Patriot systems.
