The communicative of Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (chin. 浙江吉利控股集团有限公司) began in 1986 erstwhile Li Shu Fu (chin. 李书福) started his business under this name.
The company originally produced refrigerators and parts for them.
In 1993, the production of motorcycles was launched as part of Geely's business, and in 1997, the production of cars.
Geely rapidly became 1 of the fastest increasing private Chinese automotive companies.
In the world, fewer people have heard of it until 2010, erstwhile Geely acquired Volvo car corp with the aid of state funds (in 1927) for US$1.8 billion (about PLN7.941 billion).
In subsequent years, the company acquired or acquired holdings of shares of known companies specified as:
- Lotus,
- Austin Martin,
- London Taxi,
- Daimler Mercedes (Smart),
- Proton ( Malaysia),
- Polestar (Sweden).
In China, Geely is presently the sixth-largest NEV car maker with 120 000 employees.

Geely is not only the production of cars, but besides the production of automotive parts. In 2021, Geely as a Chinese entity and Volvo as a abroad company founded a joint venture Aurobay Powertrain Engineering. The company started manufacturing combustion engines, drive systems, gearboxes, differential mechanisms and complete hybrid drives in 10 factories (nine in China and 1 in Sweden).
At the end of 2022, French Renault joined this project, whose contribution was 7 factories producing automotive parts.
In March this year, Aurobay Powertrain Engineering signed a letter of intent with Saudi oil giant Aramco, who is to be a number shareholder in the project.

Aurobay will become the largest independent supplier of engines in the planet – the goal is to produce and sale between 5 and 8 million drive units per year.
Aurobay Powertrain Engineering presently produces three- and four-cylinder engines with a cylinder capacity of 1.5 to 2 litres and a power of 105 hp to 230 hp.
In the future, the production of larger engines is planned, from six to 12 cylinders.
It is estimated that the products offered by Aurobay Powertrain Engineering are about 30% cheaper from competition.
The main outlets for the company will be Europe, the United States and China. The main recipients will be related and shareholder-dependent companies.
Meanwhile, in China, Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co., Ltd. (chin. 浙江吉利控股集团有限公司) presents its sixth hybrid-electric L6 car model from the Gelly Gaalxy series (chin. 吉利银河第).

What does Geely want to attract customers with?
Number one: price. Depending on the version, the L6 model costs from 115 800 RMB (approx. 68 604 PLN) to 149 000 RMB (approx. 88 273 PLN). This means further fierce price competition with another Chinese producers, even the largest BYD Motor Co., Ltd. (chin. 比亚迪股份有限公司) and its series of PLUS cars (chin. 秦, Qin Plus).

Second: range. In the case of a hybrid version, the car is expected to drive a full of 1370 km with fuel consumption of 4.55 l per 100 km.
Third: engine. The L6 drive unit is Raytheon Intelligent electrical Hybrid 8848. Maximum 120kW power, acceleration from zero to 100 km in 6.3 seconds and maximum velocity is 247km/h.

Fourth: electronics, which was previously a serious flaw of Geely. The heart of the digital strategy of the fresh car Geely is the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 processor, the operating strategy is Galaxy OS, and the control and communication with the user is the StarElite computing center, with which the driver can contact through a touchscreen of 13.2 inches.

Galaxy L6 is equipped with a strategy based on artificial intelligence technology that improves the performance of the car, allowing it to increase its efficiency without expanding its harmful environmental impact, while expanding the comfort of the car usage by the driver and passengers.
Additionally, wireless charging of mobile devices, 256-colour interior lighting, memory seats, electronic ON-BOX braking strategy and DP-EPS steering strategy and support for intelligent navigation system.
Fifth: passenger space. The length, width and tallness of Galaxy L6 is 4782 mm by 1875 mm by 1489 mm, respectively, with a wheelbase of 2752 mm and a leg space at the rear of 1000 mm.

Chinese experts see in the Galaxy L6 series large marketplace potential, allowing them to compete with the best in the market, namely BYD or Tesla. But – let us remember – in China the competition does not sleep.
PS: The designed Polish electrical car “Izera” is to be built on the SEA platform of Geely. In collaboration with China's sixth car manufacturer...
