Gdańsk University of Technology, AGH University of discipline and Technology in Kraków and PGZ War Shipyard signed on Wednesday a letter of intention to cooperate in the improvement and production of autonomous underwater drones capable of working in a swarm – the press office of Gdańsk University of Technology announced.
In cooperation, universities and shipyards are to prepare and implement a joint investigation and improvement task to make advanced autonomous submarines capable of working in a swarm.
Gdańsk University of Technology declares, among others, the improvement of sensory and detection systems, the improvement of underwater navigation systems based on GPS positioning methods, the improvement of underwater communication systems and the integration of on-board systems.
AGH, on the another hand, is to make artificial intelligence algorithms to analyse sensor data and detect objects, make a strategy integrating data from cameras, hydrophones and another sensors, and make algorithms for autonomy and interaction of drones in swarms.
In turn, the PGZ War Shipyard is to prepare production infrastructure and carry out tests and demonstrations of technologies in marine conditions.
