Israel's army admitted to firing on convoys of marked medical ambulances that carried assistance in the Rafah area in the south of the Gaza Strip. As a consequence of the fire, 15 rescue workers were killed who worked as part of the Palestinian Red Crescent ambulance.

The Israeli army believes that 24 hostages stay in captivity and 35 more are being held. Since the beginning of the conflict, according to the Palestinian authorities, over 50,000 people have died in Gaza.
