National Defence Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz took part in the inauguration of the academic year at the Military Medical Institute – State investigation Institute. The head of the MON announced the launch of a cataloguing of professional competences of medical personnel, which is intended to let better usage of staff in crisis situations.

W Military Medical Institute – The State investigation Institute held the inauguration of the academic year 2025/2026 on Thursday before noon. The talker was, among others, Deputy Prime Minister Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, who stressed that this is always a large moment. “We look at young people with hope, believing that the next generations will be even better educated, and thus Poland will become stronger, and into this military and economical strength, which is connected with investing in individual improvement and the improvement of science”, said the Minister of Defence. The head of the MON besides expressed appreciation for WIM staff who supply support to soldiers during the operation "Safe Floors". – I encourage all doctors, paramedics and nurses to think about broader cooperation with the military. We want a database of your abilities and abilities, due to the fact that the worst waste is sending a surgeon to the trench alternatively of an O.R. during the conflict. Hence the intention of medical troops and medical legions to cataloguate professional groups that will be sent to where their skills are most needed at the time of the crisis," said Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz.
Director of the Military Medical Institute Gen. defends prof. dr hab. n. med. Grzegorz Gielerak He summed up the past academic year and stressed that this was a period of improvement for this facility, as well as an increase in the number of investigation projects carried out. He pointed out that 116 projects with a full budget of over PLN 670 million were conducted. 38 fresh initiatives have been launched, including six from external sources for a full of PLN 75 million.

The ceremony besides presented diplomas of habilitated doctor and doctor of medical sciences and wellness sciences, as well as the WIM-PIB Director's Award and the "Bene Meritus de Aerotis et Instituto" Award. The culmination of the inauguration was the inaugural lecture “From Stethoscope to Artificial Intelligence. Evolution of Doctor's Tools”, which was given by prof. dr. hab. Tomasz Guzik of Collegium Medicum UJ.
