"Consumer protection, wellness protection and product safety must be guaranteed. The European Commission must take urgent action on this issue," he called for.
Trump's erratic style
Merz expects that US president Donald Trump's policy will proceed to be erratic in the coming years. "The United States will proceed to face the planet with very different and sometimes contradictory decisions," said Merz. "I will talk to president Trump about it and effort to find out what divides us and what links us," he announced. Merz plans to meet Trump "in close time".
