Two Polish Border defender officers went to the infirmary with serious injuries after a violent attack in Tbilisi, the capital of Georgia. The event occurred during the action with the European Border and Coast defender Agency (Frontex).
The Guardians participated together with Frontex in the return operation – it was about the obliged citizens of Georgia and Pakistan to leave Poland. After the operation, Polish officers were to be attacked in Tbilisi with knives and metallic rods.
SG spokesman, Colonel Andrzej Jużwiak, confirmed the attack and reported that injured officers have head injuries. They both needed surgery.
All members of the squad are consular and stay in contact with Polish services. The case is handled by the local police.
