On October 25, 2025, a ceremony was held in Szymbark Andrzej Kołakowski – anti-communist opposition activist in PRL, singer, educator and publicist.
On October 19, Andrzej Kołakowski, an outstanding singer, poet, educator, publicist and opposition activist in the period of the Polish People's Republic, died. He was the author of the celebrated songs "Death to the Hostages of Homeland", "Epitaphium to Major Fire" and "The Swear" was only 61.
The ceremony ceremony brought the crowds together. Andrzej Kołakowski was greeted by friends, fans of Lechia Gdańsk, Śląsk Wrocław and another clubs, co-workers, devotees of his work, representatives of authorities, institutions and social organizations, as well as the military.
Andrzej KołakowskiHe was an opposition activist, a social activist and educator, but above all a past teacher – not in the school sense of the word, but through creativity and individual testimony.
He sang and was present – he traversed Poland, performing his songs involved, carrying the message contained in the chorus of 1 of them: “To save memory from death”.
Andrzej Kołakowski was besides associated with Krakow and Małopolska. He participated, among others, in the celebrated famine in the Church of the Birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Bieżanów, Cracow.
The action at the Nativity Church in Bieżanów was carried out from 19 February to 31 August 1985 with the inspiration of Radosław Huget, 1 of the founders of the Citizens' Initiative in the Defence of Human Rights Against Violence.
With patriotic repertoire Kołakowski travelled the country, responding to all invitation – from the combatants, youth and patriotic organizers of rallying and celebrations.
