President Andrzej Duda signed an amendment to the law on raising the ceremony allowance from PLN 4 to PLN 7 1000 - the Presidential Palace passed.
The president's signature under the long-awaited amendment was a formality. We already know that since January 1, 2026 this benefit will increase from 4 to 7 1000 PLN.
The revision of regulations was prepared by the Ministry of Family, Labour and Social Policy. The amendment of the Pensions and Pensions Act from the Social Insurance Fund assumes an increase in the ceremony allowance to 7 1000 PLN.

The benefit will be valued from 1 March if inflation exceeds 5% in the erstwhile year.
The regulations signed by the president besides mention the rule of accounting so-called. Special intent allowance. It may be granted to a individual who has paid for the ceremony if the deceased is not entitled to the allowance, or if the individual who paid for the ceremony is entitled to the ceremony allowance and has incurred exceptional, hard to foretell and impossible to cover with the ceremony allowance. It's a revolutionary change.
These people will receive a benefit. A number of conditions
The ceremony allowance regulations are laid down in the Social Insurance Act 1998, The Pensions and Pensions Act of 2003 and the Ordinance of the Minister of Labour and Social Policy of 2003. This benefit is due to the individual who incurred the ceremony expenses - not just household members.

The allowance shall be paid on presentation of the applicable documents. Application must be made within 12 months of the death of the insured person. The following papers are required to get it:
- death certificate,
- application for payment of the ceremony allowance (available at ZUS),
- the identity card of the applicant,
- proof of costs incurred (e.g. coffin invoices, burial site, transport and another ceremony services).
