Poland officially launched a run for the seat of the European Customs Office (EUCA) in Warsaw. Finance and economical Minister Andrzej Domanski presented the capital candidacy in Brussels on Monday, while calling on Europe to urgently accelerate the recovery of economical competitiveness after a critical American safety strategy published on Friday.
«We are starting a conflict about the seat of the European Customs Agency in Warsaw. We have no uncertainty that Warsaw is the best place for this agency to be located», said Domanski to journalists before the presentation at the Permanent Representation of Poland to the European Union in Brussels. Warsaw will compete with 8 another EU countries, including France, the Netherlands, Portugal and Croatia. The decision to find the agency, which will employment about 250 people, is expected at the end of February or March 2026.
