From large Britain to Poland. He's the fresh German ambassador

The current German ambassador to the UK Miguel Berger is expected to be the fresh German ambassador to Poland. DPA and Reuter press agencies inform about this, citing sources akin to the German government.

64-year-old Berger is simply a professional diplomat. As we read on the pages of the German embassy in London, he began his diplomatic service in 1990 at the embassy in Budapest.

In the following years, he held various functions in German institutions around the planet and in the Ministry of abroad Affairs in Berlin. From 2020 to 2022, he served as Secretary of State there before becoming Ambassador to Britain in May 2022.

Currently, the German ambassador to Poland is Viktor Elbling, who has held this function since September 2023.

The German Government has not yet officially confirmed this change. As DPA reminds, it is good diplomatic practice to inform the host country of the intended delegation of ambassadors and to get the consent of the country afraid before formally introducing the candidate as ambassador.

The planned change in the facility in Warsaw is part of the wider rotation of German diplomats around the world. According to DPA, the erstwhile German Ambassador to Ethiopia Jens Hanefeld is expected to become the fresh German Ambassador to the US.

In turn, the German Ambassador to Kiev Martin Jaeger is to return to Berlin and presume the position of Head of the German Intelligence Service (BND).
