Each driver is obliged to have an OC insurance. The absence of this insurance may consequence in a advanced financial penalty, and from 1 January 2024 the amount of this punishment will be even higher. The reason for this increase is to increase the minimum wage in Poland, which straight affects the level of sanctions for the deficiency of compulsory insurance.

OC insurance is the work of all driver

Mandatory OC Insurance is the basis for each driver It has to be. Even if our vehicle is unused and is parked in the garage, the insurance fees must be regulated regularly. OC insurance is crucial as it provides compensation for harm caused by a collision or accident. Various services specified as the police, Border Guard, Road Traffic Inspection, Environmental Protection Inspection and another bodies authorised to control vehicles are under control over the payment of this insurance.

This insurance is intended to defend both driver, as well as another road users before financial consequences in the event of an accident. Therefore, the regular payment of OC contributions is crucial to ensuring the protection and minimisation of possible costs associated with road events. Although the car may not be used, ensuring that this insurance is paid is an crucial part of taking care of road safety.

Huge penalties for deficiency of OCs

The deficiency of valid OC insurance for the driver brings with it severe financial consequences, which are linked to the minimum salary, the date of deficiency of insurance and the kind of vehicles held.

In the case of passenger cars, the punishment is twice the minimum wage. On the another hand, driver Trucks, tractors and buses will bear 3 times this minimum rate of work. Holders of another vehicles shall be subject to a punishment of 1 3rd of the lowest remuneration.

It is worth noting that the number of days without compulsory insurance and the kind of vehicles held have a direct impact on the final amount of the punishment imposed.

Since the fresh year, penalties for the deficiency of OCs will be even higher

As of 1 January 2024, the minimum remuneration will rise, which will have a direct impact on the penalties for the absence of OC Insurance. For cars, for neglecting the OC until 3 days, the punishment will be PLN 1700 and for the period from 4 to 14 days the amount of PLN 4242 will end, while over 14 days will scope PLN 8484.

In the case of trucks, the absence of an OC will cost PLN 2550 to 3 days, PLN 6370 from 4 to 14 days, and above 14 days the mandate will increase to PLN 12726. Holders of another vehicles will be required to pay PLN 280 for deficiency of OC to 3 days, PLN 700 for a period of 4 to 14 days and PLN 1400 if the deficiency of insurance exceeds 14 days.
