The hazard of creating an utmost right-wing government in France after president Emmanuel Macron called for an early election was mobilised by progressive France. French Masoni of 5 organizations, at the initiative of the Grand Orient of France / GODF, issued a message calling for brothers and sisters to engage.
The large Masters of GODF, the French Federation of the global Mixed Masonian Order Droit Humain, the Universal large Mixed Lodge, the large Mixed Lodge of France and the Mixed large Lodge of Memphis-Misraïm inform French society that “the most reactionary forces search to agree, having as their sole ambition to challenge all the foundations of enlightenment philosophy, the sources of progress”.

On June 9, after president Macron announced an early election, the large East of France immediately reacted. Guillaume Trichard, Grand Master of GODF, issued a message in which he assured that the organization was at the forefront of the fight against the utmost right and defence of the universalist and brotherly Republic.
“Today evening France has entered a very worrying phase of its history, with the approaching return of the far right to power. More than ever, the humanist principles of freedom, equality and brotherhood, the principles that the Masons have always served and defended are in danger," Trichard stated.
“The large East of France will take in the coming days all the initiatives it considers useful, in consultation with the friendly Masonic Obeditions, to defend the universalist and brotherly Republic we cherish”, he concluded.
On 13 June, 5 organizations gathered at the GODF office to address “the solemn call for the mobilisation of all masons, brothers and sisters to say “no” to the inevitability of the triumph of the utmost right and its ideology of hatred”.
The “Call to the start of the Bratarian Republic” noted that “in 3 weeks, at the occasion of the early parliamentary elections, the hazard of France joining the dark cohort of far-right populist and nationalist governments has never been so high”.
“This year, erstwhile we honor the memory of those who have fallen for our freedom in the face of the Nazi yoke and the cooperative regime, the Masons cannot stay silent.
“Faithful and profoundly attached to their humanistic and universalistic tradition, the Masons will be more active than always in this crucial struggle, which is the defence of the fraternal Republic. We can't just beat the alarm, but we gotta act.
“Act in the field, in our lodges, outside the temples. The action besides means listening to the anger of those who, out of fatigue or despair, were able to vote June 9 on the gravediggers of the Republic to convince them that the far right was a dead end.
“The Masons, who have always resisted the hateful Hydra of the far right, faithful to the ideals of freedom, equality, brotherhood, secularism, arise, determined to participate in the restoration of Republican hope for all”.
