French soldiers boarded an oil tanker suspected of being active with a Russian "shadow float" – said AFP agency, citing aerial photos. They show French soldiers patrolling the deck.
The ship was located off the coast of France in the Saint-Nazaire area. An investigation is underway by the French prosecutor's office after the crew of the ship refused to disclose their affiliation and did not comply with the orders of the authorities.
The ship, flying the Benin flag, is now named Pushpa (formerly Boracay), and since 2007 has changed its name and flag many times – including Gabonese, Liberian or Mongolian. He sailed from Russian Primorsk and after a cruise through the Baltic turned back towards France.
The media indicates a possible link between the tanker and the drone incidents in Copenhagen and Norway.
