In July 2026, the Franco-German Brigade (German: Deutsch-Französische Brigade, French: Brigade franco-allemande) took a key step in adapting to the fresh safety requirements on NATO's east flank. Commanders of superior units – 1. French Division and the 10. Bundeswehr Panzer Division – officially ratified in Müllheim the declaration on the brigade's accomplishment of first Operational Capability (IOC).
