The D.A. in French Brest informed on Wednesday of the arrest of Captain Tagor, a Russian shadow fleet.
The captain, who is simply a Russian citizen, is facing a punishment of 1 year in prison and a fine of EUR 150 000. The French authorities are in the process of identifying the tanker shipowner.
As prosecutor Stephane Kellenberger handed over, the captain was arrested on Tuesday. On Wednesday, the Russian embassy in Paris declared that she had requested the French Ministry of abroad Affairs to release him.
