France will receive fresh artillery next year

In February 2024, France ordered 109 CAESAR howitzers in the Mark II standard from KNDS France, which was the largest contract for this variant and the second largest order in past for Caesar (156 units were bought by Saudi Arabia). This meant giving up the thought of modernizing the existing fleet of Caesars in the Mark I standard, of which [about 67 units](https://defence24.pl/sily-zbrojne/francuskie-uzupelnienia-cezarow-w-miejsce-darowizny-dla-ukrainy) were in stock at the time after donations to Ukraine (target 76).
