"On Wednesday, April 30, a man serving 10 years in prison was released from prison (municipality – ed.) Gradignan alternatively of another prisoner... According to the prosecutor's office in Bordeaux, a man has not been detained since Monday," the paper reported.

He was released by mistake after his name was mistaken for a very akin name of another prisoner, a Moroccan who was to be deported from France, reported the newspaper.
The authorities have initiated an investigation to find the circumstances of the erroneous exemption. The perpetrator was placed on a wanted list and a European arrest warrant was issued, which is valid in all EU countries, according to the newspaper.
