The WB group combines 2 of its flagship products into 1 system. Under the name FlyMate there is simply a concept of integrating reconnaissance drones with impactors, thanks to which the operator of 1 unmanned strategy can direct others on an ongoing basis until it hits the target. As part of FlyMate will be able to cooperate respective unmanneds.
– FlyMate is not a fresh product, but a strategy based on products that we already have and that are successfully utilized by users – explains the spokesperson WB Groups Remigius Wilk. This is primarily about FlyEye reconnaissance drones and ammunition circulating in the Warmate family, although, as Wilk points out, the strategy is not closed. The thought is that reconnaissance drones and circulating ammunition exchange real-time data among themselves, creating 1 reconnaissance and impact system. The biggest news is the way to lead the attack. So far, the ammunition circulating after the launch was mostly semi-autonomic, and the communication with the operator could have broken at any point. “Now by the last minute we will be able to control it,” says the WB Group spokesman.
The FlyEye drone pilot will be able to guide the effector in the Warmate household almost to contact the mark itself while observing the effects of the impact. After the hit, we immediately identify what it looked like. This allows us to decide whether to improve them with a different effector or to conclude that the mission is successful, and to return to looking for fresh targets – Wilk describes.
Same equipment, fresh possibilities
FlyMate is not a single, closed set of equipment, but a collective name of various possible connections. The primary configuration is FlyEye cooperating with light ammunition circulating Warmate 5, but the same reconnaissance drone may as well guide the Warmate 8X or even Warmate 30, which just debuted at MSPO in Kielce and is already ordered by the Polish Army. “We make a kind of reconnaissance and impact strategy based on our smaller reconnaissance systems,” says WB Group spokesperson. As he emphasizes, users who already have FlyEye in their armed forces do not gotta buy fresh equipment. simply join the task module system, which is compatible with existing unmanned vehicles and provides data exchange with circulating ammunition.
Scouts before and behind enemy lines
The concept besides involves dividing roles between exploratory systems depending on their value and hazard of loss. The more costly and larger FT5, utilized in the Gladius system, is closer to the demarcation line. – FT5 can be valuable adequate that we do not want to decision it behind the enemy’s line," explains Wilk. Deeper, in the enemy's group, flies cheaper and harder to detect FlyEye. Both drones exchange data, and can even transfer control of the same effector to each another at different stages of flight. “In the beginning, 1 of the systems will take control, it will fly respective kilometres, and then it will pass the signal further,” describes the rule of action of the WB Group spokesperson.
As Remigius Wilk emphasizes, for a company that produces so many unmanned systems simultaneously, FlyMate is simply a natural improvement of existing capabilities. – If this were shown by a fresh German or French company, I think it would advertise as a completely revolutionary strategy solution. For us, this is simply a fresh functionality, a fresh expansion of FlyEye capabilities – he points out. The solution is intended primarily to scope customers who already usage the WB strategy and want to grow their capabilities, for example with additional designation systems for already existing tubes of Warmate 5 or Gladius.
