19 April in Ożarów Mazowiecki, during a visit to WB Electronics (the leading company of the WB Group) The Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz, was signed an executive contract for the transportation of unmanned FlyEye air systems. This is the most advanced BSP in its class, proven in combat conditions.
The subject of the implementing agreement between the Treasury – the Armed Forces Agency of the Ministry of National Defence and WB Electronics, is the transportation for the Armed Forces of the Republic of Poland of kits of unmanned FlyEye 3.6 aircraft systems, together with method documentation and packages: repair, logistics and training.
The WB Group was represented by the president Piotr Wojciechowski and the Agency for the Armourment of MON Brig. Gen. Artur Kubel. The signing took place in the presence of the Vice-President of the Council of Ministers, the Minister of National Defence Władysław Kosiniak-Kamysz and the Secretary of State at the Ministry of National Defence Paul Bejda.
– It is an crucial minute and a large joy for the Polish Army, for the Ministry of National Defence, for the safety of Poland above all. We are at WB Electronics, which is the largest drone maker in Europe. Unmanned supplies will be delivered by the end of the year. FlyEye 3.6 has modified navigation systems, enhanced safety levels and has been integrated into the TOPAZ Automated Fire Control Set.
– I thank all those who have contributed to the signing of this agreement. It is hard work on the side of the Polish industry, it is hard work on the side of the WB Group. These are hundreds, thousands of people who work here, this is simply a Polish method thought. WB Electronics is simply a very serious weaponry plant which supports the Polish Army. This cooperation is our common success, but above all the success of the Polish taxpayer, who pays dense money in taxes so that this money stays in Poland and creates fresh jobs for citizens of the Republic of Poland. Unmanned aircraft systems are the future, so we will make our capabilities in this area said Paweł Bejda, Secretary of State in the MON.
The Implementing Agreement concluded on 19 April is the first contract under a framework agreement signed on 5 September 2023 during the XXXI global Defence manufacture Salon in Kielce. The second includes the supply of over 400 unmanned FlyEye air systems.
– The experience in the war in Ukraine showed respective aspects. They showed that our concepts, developed by our Polish engineers, work perfectly there. The second experience, highly important, is that we gotta produce massively. In large quantities deliver on time. The 3rd experience is that we must have our own technologies. Only our own technologies will let us to keep up with the changing battlefield and real-time modifications to meet the countermeasure of our opponent. We gotta do it in the country. We give jobs to tens of thousands of people in Poland. Only orders from the Polish government, from the Polish army are the basis of our operation. We know, we all consist of it as taxpayers, but this is the best money spent due to the fact that we produce and sale on the spot, we pay taxes here, but cognition and experience stay in the country – said Piotr Wojciechowski, president of the WB Group.
FlyEye mini class BSP are designed to carry out image designation from the air utilizing optoelectronic heads equipped with cameras capable of recording the image in daylight and utilizing thermal imaging. The strategy has been successfully tested in the Polish Army, where it carries out tasks for both the Operational Army and the Territorial Defence Army, as well as during wartime activities.
