Floating Naval Bases — America's consequence to Chinese Threats

On 1 March 2023, the U.S. Navy introduced the 4th ESB ship USNS John L. Canley (ESB 6), which is prepared to service as a multi-purpose floating base. In this way, the United States wants to supply logistical support to its ships in prolonged operations distant from their home ports — peculiarly in the western Pacific.
