Two General Atomics MQ-4B SeaGuardian-class HALE (High Altitude — Long Endurance) unmanned aircraft began service with the Coast defender of Japan. The machines can stay in the air for nearly 30 hours and will be utilized to carry out maritime search and rescue, disaster consequence and maritime law enforcement missions in Japan's area of work and economical zone.
