It was in Strachocin that Andrzej Bobola was born in 1591 and his apparitions proceed here to this day, as witnessed by the curator of the sanctuary, Fr Józef Niżnik. He remained faithful to Christ until the end, and his large historical mission for good began after his death.
He appeared in 1702 in Pinsk, 1819 in Vilnius and 1987 and 2020 in Strachocin. It is the intercession of St. Andrew Bobola that is attributed to the 1920 Miracle of the Vistula, which took place on the last day of the novena announced by Archbishop Alexander Kakowski of Warsaw.
