The global Skating Union (ISU) is investigating a Chinese dance couple. It's about an different gift that the players received after the performance – a toy rocket.
The point is that the toy rocket was marked ‘DF-61’, which belongs to a Chinese ballistic missile. On the video from the event you can see how Junfei Ren and Jianing Xing have a rocket on their knees while waiting for results.
The global Skating Union reported that the toy was thrown on ice by viewers and called the incidental an “unfortunate”, announcing its investigation.
The Chinese couple took eighth place in the dance competition won by the Americans Madison Chock and Evan Bates.
