On Thursday, there was a heated exchange in the Sejm between athletics Minister Sławomir Nitras and Law and Justice Leader Jarosław Kaczyński. Emotions reached out after Nitras accused the PiS community of creating a 'golden system', and Kaczyński himself called 'capo di tutti capi'.

Nitras, discussing the financing of the participation of Polish athletes in the Olympic Games in Paris, referred to the activities of the Polish Olympic Committee. He alleged that those associated with the erstwhile ruling organization were liable for corruption and embezzlement in sport. - "It was you who stole from Polish athletes" - he said from the parliament speaker, besides mentioning Radosław Piesiewicz, president of the Polish Academy of Sciences, with PiS politicians.

Jarosław Kaczyński responded to the words of the minister, who appeared on the platform shortly later. He accused Nitas of abuse of immunity and announced that if akin words were spoken outside the Sejm, they would have their legal consequences. "Say the same thing without immunity. You will have trials" – the president of PiS thundered.

Nitras did not leave this message unanswered. He returned to the platform and stated, "You were the capo di tutti of the full PiS mob. If it wasn't for your power, people like Piesiewicz wouldn't have taken crucial positions."

Other tensions in the Sejm

On the same day, there was another conflict in the Sejm. Roman Giertych criticised Confederate leader Sławomir Mentzen for his statements concerning Pope Francis. "Mentzen should apologize to Catholics for calling the pope a South American Communist," said Gierty. He besides recalled his earlier words: “I don’t truly digest the pope.”

In consequence to the cry of the parliamentary jury, Gierty appealed to Jarosław Kaczyński: - "Jarku, calm your MPs".
