Despite the fact that the name Future Combat Air strategy itself, the Combat Air Future System, says that FCAS is much more than just the next generation of combat aircraft. However, in the public sense, there has been any kind of simplification of this kind – as if the FCAS were equivalent to the European successor F-35. However, the head of the FCAS Program at Airbus Defence and Space, Bruno Fichefeaux tries to draw a broad image of this project. The de facto FCAS is, as experts say, a "system system", a holistic project, involving the cooperation of various presently utilized and developed FCASs of manned and unmanned platforms, weapons, communication systems, command systems and their cooperation in multi-domain conflict.
