The Sejm adopted a resolution on Friday commemorating Father Jerzy Popiełuszko on the 40th anniversary of his death, which falls on October 19. "He is 1 of the modern heroes of our freedom; he has become a symbol of defending freedom of conscience, human dignity and civilian rights," we read in a statement.
