We have an detonation at the rocket fuel center that was put into service a fewer years ago. said the plant president, Elżbieta Śreniawska, in a conversation with the radio station.
The fire is presently extinguished by emergency services, and the police are on site. The causes of the tragedy are not yet known, but the management of the plant ensures that the facility is continuously monitored.
The Mesko plant is simply a weapons maker owned by the Polish Armed Forces Group since 2015. They manufacture various ammunition, including tiny caliber, mortar, tank, artillery and rockets. The company is based in Skarżysko-Kamienna. Previous incidents
In April 2021, there was an detonation in a building where explosives were produced, resulting in a female badly injured. Unfortunately, as a consequence of the injuries, she died shortly afterwards. According to local media reports, the detonation could have caused the rocket to detonate. Stanislaw Głowacki, president of NSZZ Solidarność in the plant, stated that the detonation occurred in the corridor during transport.
This is simply a place where theoretically nothing should happen. This is incomprehensible to us. It's a tragedy, we're in shock. – said Głowacki.
