Experts warn: These changes will affect your wallet in 2025

The year 2025 brings crucial changes in the Polish taxation and economical system, which can importantly affect the finances of both entrepreneurs and consumers. Below we present the most crucial of them.

As of 1 January 2025, changes in taxation limits have a direct impact on entrepreneurs:

  • Flat rate on recorded revenue:
  • Monthly: gross in 2024 may not exceed PLN 8,569,200 to be able to pay taxation per month.
  • Quarterly: gross in 2024 cannot exceed PLN 856 920 to be able to pay the taxation quarterly.
  • Small VAT payer:
  • The limit is PLN 8,569,000.
  • Small payer at Estonian CIT:
  • The limit was set at PLN 17 138,000.

These changes may affect the way businesses account for taxes and their reporting obligations.

The anticipation of accounting for income taxation on individuals was introduced by the cash accounting method. Forecasts of inflation for 2025

According to the National Bank of Poland (NBP), inflation in 2025 could be 4.3%, with a typical forecast distribution of 3.5-5.2%. However, in the absence of freezing of energy retention prices, inflation may increase to up to 5.6%. The government plans to keep household electricity prices frozen for the first 9 months of 2025, with the aim of reducing inflation growth and protecting consumers from rising energy costs.

Increase in minimum wage

Due to projected inflation, the government announced a minimum wage increase in 2025. However, these proposals were based on erstwhile inflation forecasts of 4.1%. Current estimates indicate higher inflation levels, which could affect the real value of the minimum wage and the purchasing power of workers.
