Most likely the last Poles in the mediate East will return to the country on Monday – said Deputy Prime Minister and abroad Minister Radosław Sikorski. Since 1 March, more than 2,800 people have been evacuated from conflict areas. However, many people are inactive looking forward to the anticipation of returning or information about further action by the authorities.
A further gathering of the government coordination squad on the situation in the mediate East, attended by Prime Minister Donald Tusk, took place Friday after 11 o'clock.
— Since 1 March, more than 2,800 people have left the affected regions, both through regular air services and through the support of our consular facilities, the Prime Minister reported. At the same time, he warned that the situation remained difficult, as many inactive await not only aid but besides current information on the anticipation of evacuation.
The Head of Government pointed out that the European Union declared its readiness to co-finance the Polish evacuation operation under the European support mechanism. However, the condition is that another associate States' citizens are besides included on board aircraft.
— The Poles are a precedence for us, but delight usage this mechanics flexibly – appealed Donald Tusk to Polish diplomatic missions.
The abroad Minister reported that 8 return flights were scheduled for Poles from the United arabian Emirates and Oman on Friday. In total, about 1500 people are to return to Poland. Tourist traffic from Oman is gradually unloaded thanks to further charter flights.
— Most likely, on March 8, the final return to Poland will take place, mainly on the aircraft of Enter Air, according to Radosław Sikorski.
Data from the Ministry of abroad Affairs indicate that the evacuation of Poles from Israel, Jordan and Lebanon is almost complete. any 800 people left Jordan, while any 360 people left Israel. Consuls and peculiar hotlines handled thousands of applications. By Thursday, 3,700 telephone calls and about 350 e-mails related to the crisis were recorded.
Radosław Sikorski besides noted that after the government's appeals, travel agencies began cancelling trips to the countries of the region. However, the conflict is gradually widening to another countries in the mediate East. The increasingly hard situation concerns Poles surviving in Qatar, where attacks with ballistic missiles and drones are increasing.
The head of Polish diplomacy stressed that in connection with the dynamic improvement of events consular services stay in the highest readiness. Diplomatic cast was strengthened, among others, in Riyadh, Abu Dhabi and in Oman.
According to government announcements, the last return flights for Poles from the mediate East are scheduled to take place on Monday, 8 March at the latest. The authorities guarantee that citizens' safety remains the most crucial precedence and that any individual reporting the request for assistance will be supported.
