The presence of Greek forces in Saudi Arabia has continued since 2021 and is the consequence of a bilateral defence agreement between the 2 states, known as position of Forces Agreement. Under its power, Greece undertook to support Saudi Air Defense, peculiarly in the context of expanding tensions in the Gulf region. Earlier, information appeared that in exchange for the deployment of Greek Patriot Saud batteries, they were to pay for their modification/modernization.
