European tank programs of the future - do they make sense? [OPINION]

We presently have an absurd situation in Europe, in which 3 programs with the same goal - the improvement of a new-generation tank - are moving in parallel. Does specified a situation even make sense? Or should it be considered, however, as a manifestation of the overgrown ambitions of politicians, and the programs themselves are pulling the weight of the typical overgrown European bureaucracy and are a symptom of wasted time, strength and resources?
