Maciej Witucki, president of Leviathan, stressed in his speech that Europe faces challenges comparable to the most critical moments of the Cold War. He pointed out that expanding global and external competitions require the European Union to make it more attractive to investors and to defend jobs.
One of the main challenges is the structural barriers and fragmentation of the EU interior market. "The fresh single marketplace strategy must focus on reducing regulatory barriers and creating favourable conditions for entrepreneurs", Witucki said.
Innovation, digitisation and competence
The debate highlighted the request to make innovation and digitalisation. Only 13.5% of EU companies usage artificial intelligence, which is simply a serious threat to the competitiveness of the continent. Witucki stressed the importance of effective implementation of the EU Act on Artificial Intelligence and expanding backing for the improvement of digital and environmental competences.
Enlargement and the function of social dialogue
Confederate president Leviathan besides pointed out that EU enlargement, including Ukraine, is simply a strategical necessity. A stronger and more integrated Europe is key to maintaining global competitiveness.
He besides stressed the importance of social dialog and the fresh Pact for European Social Dialogue. "Constructive cooperation between the social partners is essential to make effective reforms that will guarantee economical growth and social justice," Witucki said.
Europe must act
In summary, Maciej Witucki pointed out that stagnation is not an option. Europe must reduce bureaucracy, focus on innovation and strengthen the labour market. "Without brave business-friendly reforms, Europe will fall behind global competition," he stressed.

What is the Tripartite Social Summit?
The Tripartite Social Summit is simply a forum for dialog between the EU institutions and the European social partners. This gathering is held twice a year and is an crucial platform for exchanging views on key economical and social challenges in Europe. The meetings shall be held jointly by the president of the European Council and the president of the European Commission.

The debate participants analysed how to strengthen the European Union in the face of global change and what action should be taken to make it more attractive for investors and workers.
