Europe compensates for German exports

According to a study by the Institute of German Economy in Cologne (IW Köln) in the first 3 quarters of 2025, exports of goods and services from the West Germany increased by 0.25% y/y, despite a drop in sales to 2 major trading partners – China (-12.3%) and the United States (-7.8%). In total, both directions decreased Germany's full exports by 1.55 pp.
