German Chancellor Friedrich Merz said Wednesday in the Bundestag that Europe is not a puppet and that decisions on European affairs require its approval. He condemned Russia as the only aggressor in the war in Ukraine and announced the continuation of assistance to Ukraine. "The agreement negotiated by the major powers without the consent of Ukraine and Europeans will not supply a basis for lasting peace," he added.
