Europe must arm itself at the expense of "social". Generals' Appeal

The German Chief of Defence Gen. Carsten Breuer and the Chief of Defence of the United Kingdom Air Marshal Sir Richard Knighton in the pages of the [‘The Guardian’](https://www.theguardian.com/commentisfree/2026/feb/15/defence-chiefs-russia-rearmament-security-britain-germany-europe) published a text in which they call on Europe's allies to genuinely strengthen common deterrence. "Russia is increasingly looking towards the West" - they warned moments after the end of this year's Munich safety Conference.
