Turkey's president Recep Tayyip Erdogan expressed his support for Donald Trump's peace plan for the Gaza Strip. "I express my appreciation for the efforts and leadership of US president Donald Trump to halt the bloodshed in the Gaza Strip and accomplish a ceasefire. Turkey will proceed to engage in this process, aiming to establish a fair and lasting peace acceptable to all parties" - wrote Erdogan on platform X.

French president Emmanuel Macro noted that he expected Israel to be full active in Trump's plan. "Hamas has no choice but to release all hostages immediately and carry out the plan. Elements (the plan) must pave the way for in-depth discussions with all applicable partners to build sustainable peace in the region, based on a two-state solution and principles supported by 142 UN associate States, on the initiative of France and Saudi Arabia" - emphasised the French leader.

European support for the plan

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni assessed Trump's plan as a possible turning point. "The proposal presented present by U.S. president Donald Trump can be a turning point in this process, allowing permanent cessation of war, the immediate release of all hostages and full and safe access to humanitarian aid for civilians" - said Meloni.

"Italy is ready to take action, closely coordinating it with the United States, European and regional partners (...). We call on all parties to take advantage of this chance and adopt the plan" - added the Italian Prime Minister.

Calls for implementation

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer called for "all parties to cooperate with the US administration to finalize this agreement and implement it". "Hamas should now agree to the plan and put an end to the misery by laying down arms and releasing all another hostages" - added Starmer.

The Heads of Diplomacy of Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Indonesia, Jordan, Qatar, Pakistan, Turkey and the United arabian Emirates stressed in a joint message the readiness to implement Trump's agreement.

Details of the peace plan

U.S. president Donald Trump announced during a gathering with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday a 20-point peace plan for the Gaza Strip. The Israeli leader confirmed that he agreed to it.

The plan provides for an immediate, permanent truce in exchange for Hamas' release of all Israeli hostages. Hamas, like another Palestinian militias, would renounce power over the Gaza Strip and lay down his arms. Hamas members who would agree to these conditions could stay in Gaza and others could leave it safely.
