On the spot, ministers were greeted by the Managing manager of Patria Latvia and Defence Partnership Latvia Uģis Romanovs. During the tour they could see the ongoing work on the first transporters Patria 6x6 intended for the Latvian army, which is to receive more than 200 vehicles by 2029 (although 40 vehicles already delivered come from Finland). The plant itself is the first specified facility active in the production of wheeled armoured transporters in the Baltic States. It is owned by a joint venture called Defence Partnership Latvia SIA. In its case, the majority shareholder is the mentioned Patria with 70.03% of them, while the others belong to the Latvian company Unitruck SIA.
