Estonia will strengthen anti-aircraft defence with the German system

[Estonia jointly with Latvia in May 2023](https://defence24.pl/strong-armoured/estonia-and-flight-buy-racite-tested-in-Ukraine) informed of the beginning of negotiations on the joint acquisition of German short-range aviation systems IRIS-T SLM. Due to the geographical size of both countries, this solution was described as average range. The implementation agreement with the maker of Diehl Defence was concluded in [September 2023](https://defence24.pl/power-arms/estonia-and-flight-signature-contract-on-German-anti-aircraft systems).
