According to the Militarnyi portal, the first phase is to make anti-tank ditches in the Setomaa region. In the designated locations it takes digging deep into respective meters of earth dams to prevent the fast movement of enemy armored vehicles. These excavations are the physical start of the Baltic Defence Line, a joint initiative by the Baltic States aimed at creating a network of field obstacles, bunkers and warehouses in the event of a military emergency.
