Entrepreneurs have quite a few expectations of the fresh government, which is likely to emergence next week. They hope, among another things, to reconstruct social dialog and stableness of changes in regulations, return to the erstwhile way of accounting for wellness contributions or reduce minimum wage increases.
– The moods and expectations of entrepreneurs went importantly up due to the result of the election. This option, which will now rule, is definitely more friendly to entrepreneurs – says news agency Business Jacek Goliszewski, president of Business Centre Club and president of the Shadow Office.
– In the coalition agreement, we read very good records, including the return of the dialog in the Council of Social dialog between business organisations and trade unions, the elimination of the effects of the Polish Governance by changing the wellness contribution for the entrepreneur and paying the sickness contribution for the employee, the vacatio legis for changes in taxation law, at least half a year, as well as the subject of a clear, consistent, transparent and equitable and above all unchangeable taxation system.
According to the latest “Polish Labour marketplace Barometer” individual Service, 35 percent of entrepreneurs are afraid of worsening the situation in 2024, 29 percent expects nothing to change, and only 1 in 5 is optimistic. The top fear is caused by higher operating costs, inflation and wage pressure. However, the survey was conducted in early October, even before the elections. Despite the company's concerns, they declared that they would employment more than slow down. More than all 4th is going to recruit, and only all 5th assumes dismissals. besides all 4th year plans to rise next year.
– We have problems in the labour market, due to the fact that we have a very low unemployment rate, but unfortunately there has been a quantitative gap. Already in 2025 there may be about a million hands to work, so systemic action is needed. There is besides a qualitative gap due to the fact that our entrepreneurs tell us that they have no hands to work in circumstantial professions and circumstantial specializations – reserves the president of the BCC.
In the context of the labour market, entrepreneurs besides call for a simplification in minimum wage increases, especially without diversification into the regions of the country. They besides talk about the request to discuss a comprehensive immigration, assimilation and asylum policy to be coordinated with the needs of the economy.
– The next issue, highly crucial to entrepreneurs, is the implementation or acquisition of funds from the KPO. A good step has been made, 5 billion euros in advance will flow to Poland, but there is more money. These measures would not only work pro-investment but besides anti-inflationally, would strengthen exchange rates and would be a large boost to GDP growth and business investment – emphasises Jacek Goliszewski.
A survey conducted among companies by the CBM Indicator commissioned by the Confederate Leviathan indicates that unlocking money from KPO is the anticipation of 70% entrepreneurs towards the fresh coalition organization government. According to BCC experts, it is besides essential to audit already paid expenditure to KPO due to the serious hazard of their contradiction with the declarations of the Polish government on how to spend these funds. From the point of view of infrastructure investments, the issue of securing cohesion funds that have been threatened so far is equally important.
The BCC besides has a number of recommendations on activities to influence the competitiveness of the Polish economy. 1 of them is the depoliticisation of State Treasury companies and the restructuring of the energy sector financed mainly by EU, private Polish and abroad capital, not by public capital. According to Jacek Goliszewski, the focus on the future is simply a key issue for the competitiveness of Polish companies.
– This future is in fresh technologies based on artificial intelligence algorithms. This is automation, robotics, manufacture 5.0, ChatGPT, access, analysis of large data sets, predictive analyst – mentions the president of the BCC.
Meanwhile, in investigation Poland is poorly compared to another European Union countries. In the European Innovation Ranking in 2023, our country was ranked at 62.8 percent of the EU average in 4th place from the end, only ahead of Romania, Bulgaria and Latvia.
– According to Eurostat research, only 40% of Polish companies usage digital technologies to a basic extent, and only 8% analyse large data sets. This is the gap between Poland and another developed countries in Europe, and the even greater gap is between Europe and the States – Says the expert.
According to the BCC, in order to increase the competitiveness of Polish companies and the economy, it is essential to advance and support the government's innovation and investment in fresh technologies.
– If we want to strengthen competitiveness, this must besides be a systemic solution, consisting of information actions on fresh technologies, an advisory action for tiny and medium-sized enterprises, including those who cannot afford to sign contracts with advisory companies and investment incentives, taxation incentives for companies that invest in fresh technologies. These reliefs already be in our economical circulation, but companies do not know, they are underused. This will increase the competitiveness of the Polish economy and that our products, services will proceed to be sold in Europe. If we do not make this technological leap, if our products are not energy-efficient and cost-efficient, we cannot sale them – judged Jacek Goliszewski.
