On the tatami in Elbląg, soldiers competed for medals of the Polish Military Championship in Judo. The squad tournament was won by the representation of military universities. In individual rivalry, the most medals – 7 – were won by Judoks from the 12th Mechanized Division. The best players of the championship were: Sergeant Lieutenant Julia Gut and the general. Sebastian the Nail.
– Final fights in the opinion of judges and experts did not deviate from the level of civilian national championship. The soldiers ambitiously fought against the dads, and their actions were watched by the two-time Olympic champion Waldemar Legien in Judo – said Mr Paweł Łępa, Head of the Department of Physical Education and Sports of the General Staff of the Polish Army. The commander stressed that the participants of the championship during their stay in Elbląg took advantage of an chance – they took part in a training led by the Olympic champion from Seoul and Barcelona.
In the Widowisko-Sport Hall in Elbląg, the squad tournament was best performed by representatives of military universities. The students in the final beat the representation of the air force. They threw 5 medals into the squad gold of military colleges. The only gold she won in the category of over 70 kg sergeant. pchor. Julia Gut from the Military Center for Medical Training in Łódź, who was selected as the best champion. The Podchorzyżes besides won 1 silver medal (st. kpr. pchor. Karol Batko in category up to 66 kg) and 3 brown ones (st. pchor. Emilia Augustyn in category up to 57 kg, ranged. pchor. Filip Wantuch in category up to 73 kg and sergeant. pchor. Norbert Ślusar in category over 100 kg).
The runners in the squad tournament in individual competition reached for 5 discs: gold and 2 silver and brown. The airmen won 2 medals in a category over 100 kg, in which 2 representatives of the air force met in the final. The gold won the fence. Fabian Kowalski, and silver spit. In addition, on the second phase the podium stood in the corner to 90 kg of the capital of Damian Pruszkowski. The bronze medals were won by St. Paweł Borowicz in a catwalk to 81 kg.
The most medals in individual competition were won by representatives of the 12th Mechanized Division. In Elbląg they enjoyed 2 gold medals, 1 silver medal and 4 bronze medals. The championship title was won by the rank. Daniel Bialowas in cat. up to 66 kg and the rank of specialist Piotr Wawrzyniak in cat. up to 90 kg. The second phase of the podium was divided. Krystian Przyborek, who was second in execution to 100 kg. The bronze medals were won for 12 DZ: by Fr.Joanna Grasz in catalysts up to 70 kg, by Monika Quant-Zozmus in catalysts above 70 kg, by Marcin Durka in catalysts up to 60 kg and in range. Michał Bielawski in cat. up to 100 kg.
The military championship in Judo was held for the 5th time in a row in Elbląg, and its organizer was the 16th Mechanized Division. The results achieved were congratulated to the best Judokom soldiers, among others, on the Gen. weapon Marek Sokołowski, commander-general of types of armed forces, Waldemar Legien and Gen. Div. Wojciech Ziółkowski, commander of 16 DZ.
