Emirates Da Nang and Siem Reap Flights

The inaugural flight to Da Nang (DAD) launched on June 2, followed by Siem Reap (SAI) service on June 3, with both destinations receiving traditional water cannon salutes and warm welcomes from government dignitaries and airport officials.

Emirates (EK) leadership teams inaugurated services at each destination, emphasising the strategic importance of these new connections.

Both routes operate using Emirates’ wide-body Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, offering the airline’s signature products and award-winning service while providing seamless connections to Dubai (DXB) and the carrier’s extensive global network.

Executive Remarks

Nabil Sultan, Emirates’ Executive Vice President for Passenger Sales and Country Management, positioned the Bangkok route launches as a significant milestone in strengthening Emirates’ Southeast Asia presence.

Sultan reinforced the airline’s long-standing commitment to Thailand as a strategic gateway to the region.

The new services enable travellers to experience seamless connectivity across three distinct destinations—Dubai, Bangkok, and either Da Nang or Siem Reap—with a single ticket.

Sultan thanked partners, including local authorities and airports, for their cooperation and valuable contributions to Emirates’ regional expansion efforts.

Vietnam Operations

Da Nang becomes Emirates’ third gateway in Vietnam, joining existing services to Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City, serving as a vital link for high-value cargo including electronics, textiles, and perishables.

Emirates (EK) operates 25 weekly flights across Vietnam, supported by strong partnerships, including a recent memorandum of understanding with Vietnam Airlines (VN), VietJet (VJ), and Sun Group.

These partnerships aim to enhance air connectivity to the Southeast Asian hub while promoting inbound tourism. The strategic positioning supports both passenger and cargo operations, leveraging Vietnam’s growing economic importance in the region.

Cambodia Service

The new Dubai-Bangkok-Siem Reap route operates three times weekly, complementing Emirates’ existing daily service to Phnom Penh (PNH) via Singapore (SIN). This expansion increases the airline’s Cambodia presence to 10 weekly flights, significantly enhancing connectivity options for travellers.

The routes strategically target leisure travellers from key European markets while opening opportunities for cultural and business exchanges under Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreements established between the UAE and both Cambodia and Vietnam.

The ceremony, attended by Emirates’ official delegation, Excellencies, and airport officials, emphasised the strategic importance of Bangkok as a connecting hub for the airline’s Southeast Asian operations.
