American billionaire Elon Musk rekindled emotions on the political stage, this time speaking during the German alternate organization (AfD) run for Germany (Halle). Musk expressed his support for the group, which is frequently referred to as far right, and called on the Germans to defend their culture and values.

During his live performance via the video link, Musk appealed for the preservation of German traditions and values.

In his speech he besides referred to Germany's hard past, stressing that present generations should not feel guilty for the actions of their ancestors, including those of the times of Nazism.
Controversy around gestures and cooperation – Musk supports AfD

Musko's speech gained quite a few publicity, but besides provoked protests. In Berlin and Cologne thousands of people gathered to manifest their opposition to the AfD and its sympathizers. At Halle, 4,500 organization supporters gathered at the scene, where next to Musko spoke group leader Alice Weidel, who called on her voters to fight for “great Germany”.
